Liver is my liver-spotted Dal. He was owned and partially trained by one of my students who rescued him from the animal shelter. Liver won a ribbon at his first fun match, but his most astounding feat was holding a sit-stay while another dog walked up and sniffed his face! Before he retired, Liverwas one of my demo dogs for 4-H classes in addition to ABC Dog School. He earned his Canine Good Citizen certificate, and his "official" name is Arkon Liver Snaps. He is my oldest dog now, at 14 years of age.
Snoopy joined us in March of 2003, from the local animal shelter. He's the spittin' image of Bud in looks, and personality, too. What a sweetie!

And this little fella is the infamous J.D....a purebred MinPin, born in Dec. '02. J.D. was being surrendered at the pound when I got there, a close call for sure! (I was there to pick up Reba!) What he lacks in size, he makes up for in energy! See J.D.'s story on another page.

Ivy & Nikita 1996
Nikita was rescued from a roadside in 1996 when she was about 12 weeks old. She's the nanny dog now, helping to keep order among the little guys, and she's Tobie's best friend.
Twinkle was rescued from the street where she'd spent at least two days waiting for the person who dropped her off to come back. I was the one who picked her up, only too glad to have a Jack Russell again. Her formal name is Arkon Redwing. And she's almost boss dog, big surprise.

Tobie came to us in 1999, when she was a year old. She hangs out with Nikita and likes her nylabone. Tobie and Squeakie made their stage debut as pound puppies in "Annie", put on by the local High School. She loved the attention and looks forward to her next big break. She's also one of the ABC demo dogs.

Squeak
Little Squeakie got her name from the sound of her protests after being brought home and placed in a pen. She had spent about a month living at the church down the road, sleeping in the cemetery, begging for food and attention, following people to their cars with her little tail a'wagging. Positive for heartworm, and recently a mother, she was a sad case. Squeakie is a happy little camper now that she has joined the upstairs gang, and no longer lives up to her name. She loves her Sleepy Sheep plush toy, and, along with Tobie, made her stage debut in the High School production of "Annie."

Archie was found recently on Petfinder. He's a Jack Russell mix and is revitalizing the pack with his youthful energy. Thanks to Archie, Twinkle is no longer a sofa spud!
